At the close of the anniversary year, Bucher Travel Inc. looks back on its history and on the people who shaped it. In a personal conversation, CEO Mario Würsch met with Urs Rast, former owner and long-serving managing director. Two generations exchange views on origins, change, and the development of a company that has helped shape Swiss tourism for decades.

Bucher Travel Inc. is strengthening its leadership structure: effective December 1, 2025, Tanja Schmid becomes Director Bucher Incoming, supporting Karin Zumbühl. What began as a small carriage company with horse and wagon has evolved over the past 160 years into one of Switzerland’s leading travel and transportation companies. We are renewing our fleet at the Alphubel location in Täsch/Zermatt to offer our customers an even more exclusive and comfortable selection of vehicles. The latest addition to our fleet is the brand new Mercedes S-Class 500, known for luxury, elegance and innovative technology.

Together with Alphubel Limousine & Taxi Service and Stoked Group, the perfect start to the winter season in Zermatt was achieved in the magical atmosphere of The Cavern at The Omnia.

On October 21, 2023, we welcomed long-standing customers, travel partners and friends to the new travel agency in Lucerne as part of the Bucher Reisen customer event in Dierikon. We enjoyed interesting presentations about South Africa, Costa Rica, Norway, Hurtigruten and Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam as well as a great aperitif in the penthouse of the Hotel Astoria.

The travel company Bucher Travel Inc. is opening a new travel agency at Pilatusstrasse 32 in Lucerne. Under the name "Bucher Travel", the company offers a wide range of first-class travel services.

Since 1 May 2023, the two tourism professionals Patrik Zibung and Urs Huwiler complement the management team and support Mario Würsch, co-owner, managing director and chairman of the board of directors. The two executives are long-time employees of the company and already manage a department. Both are familiar in detail with the peculiarities of the company and are well prepared for the extended tasks.

Bucher Travel Inc. is expanding its business activities to Täsch/Zermatt in the Swiss canton Valais. The acquisition of “Alphubel Taxi & Limousine Service” in Täsch will strengthen the company’s operations in Valais and throughout Switzerland.
